Heya, surface plate time. Any comments on the H&F one?: Q810 - 38-810 Granite Surface Plate | Hare & Forbes Machineryhouse. Ideally, a slightly larger one would be great, but shopping about, prices are ridiculous for (say) 900x600. And then the stands are about 50% again on the price. The H&F one, though not amazingly cheap, is certainly the cheaper of the bunch I seen.

Another contender is this guy: https://www.gettoolsdirect.com.au/ve...ate-vsg11.html. Though (everything being relative) I notice flatness at "0.009mm" is more than the H&F one at "3.253/μm". If I read that right. I like that it is vertex though.
