Easy peasy
Today I got stuck into pulling out my wooden fence posts.
First job was to assemble my lifting tripod from 3x1800 lengths of 40NB pipe and some swivel scaffolding fittings.
With rope, I hooked up my brand new Beaver 500kg lever hoist slung under the apex. First attempt failed, the post was too long and the lift was not straight up having to be off to one side.
Suddenly the fog lifted, "cut the bloody post in half". Now we are talking, now I could position the tripod directly over the top, and wallah, out she came with half a bucket of water.
One more to go, and same procedure. Also buried was the remains of two gate posts, this time concreted in and rock solid. Poured on more water and swapped the lever hoist for my 1 tonne chain block.
Could not have been easier, with job done and tools packed away, another glance up the sideway revealed another fence post. Bugger, I won't actually repeat what I said but +)*&^%$#@!
The day finished up really well. It's not every day a gorgeous women stops to say hello. After a brief chat, I invited her in. Apparently it wasn't just a random visit, she had been inside my house 20 years ago and knew the previous owner. There are not many Architect designed houses in Heidelberg, and she knew this one. I tried every trick in the book to keep her there, but her husband was with her, story of my life.

I can get away with it by ignoring (pretending not to notice) the specified file size.
The pics come straight from my iPhone, so I just assume they are 800x600 pixels.

Doing it again
One problem for this old phart is trying to carry 3 lengths of 40 NB water pipe to the job, it's just a tad heavy for me, so it's one pipe leg at a time.
If I had to do it again, I'd scrounge up some heavy wall aluminium tube and have a three pronged plate fabricated up for the top with an eye for hitching.
A light weight tripod would be a very handy jigger to have in conjunction with a lever hoist, pulling up tree stumps etc, etc.
Grahame, this little Beaver is a bloody ripper, now my favourite go to outside tool.

The A-Frame trying to pull a bit of stainless pipe off the ground. Note that there are 2 wraps of chain around the pipe. This is essential for grip. Pretend the pipe is a post by the way.
The component parts. All just slip together. They are pretty heavy. Uprights are 2.5 inch heavy wall galv.
The top section showing the fingers to hold the chain and stop it pulling thru. The chain should be moved as the post lifts so it stays close to vertical for the best leverage. Most of the stuff I pull out needs to be lifted out mostof the way.
Something I have pulled out, with assistance. A Fanta can on top for comparison. This was a strainer post in a fence line. It is reduced in size where it was underground.
The winch I use for the job. I think it has a 4 tonne pull capacity.

I've got this part, unfortunately, I'm having a really hard time trying to convince the police, that the cable and snatch blocks that go with this are mine. The cable and snatch blocks were found in a second hand place where he bought them at a garage sale. Unfortunately the holder of the garage sale, passed away not long after the S/H shop owner bought them, and his wife claims to know nothing about them.
Moral of the story mark all your stuff, who would've thought that someone would pinch just the cable and blocks, that were in the back of the shed.

That sounds like a real bummer. They are not cheap items. The one I have is not mine. It is my brother's. He decided I need it more than he does, or something.
