It finally stopped bleeding...
The thin cut-off wheels in 115mm angle grinders work really well... and painlessly - at first...
Cheers,
JoeCheers,

Was that caused by a careless moment,or by holding the grinder in the incorrect manner,or was the guard removed or not positioned correctly.

Now that you have done that, you are going to painfully realise just how many times you bump that, for quite a while. Hope it's not too many times.

Hmm, that looks nasty.
Most of those injuries don't actually hurt until later
I stuck a knife right through my thumb once trying to lever out a circlip - dumb dumb dumb move.
Didn't hurt till I pulled it out.
RobThe worst that can happen is you will fail.
But at least you tried.

I can tell you that a small flat blade screwdriver, imbeded about an inch into the hand right between the thumb and index finger, hurts immediately and severely. If you haven't done a dumb thing like this at least once, then you are either not doing enough, or very lucky. Had a few mishaps actually but still got all my fingers intact. Drilled through one once. That also hurt. Not to mention a few nails through fingers when I was making pallets. One through knuckle of index finger actually did not hurt at all till a few hours later, then the pain was really, really severe. Might have had something to do with me getting a workmate to use a prybar to separate the finger from the crate I was nailed to.

Tell me you have had some medical attention on that. Those type of cuts and abrasions from disc wheels typically will infect all too easy due to the contamination dragged in by the wheel.
Its the cleaning out bit that hurts
The wheel is a fantastic bit of technology and one can cut like a surgeon with them, but crikey you weren't supposed to take that literally.
Get better soon.

I just slipped with my hand in the wrong place at the wrong time.... guard and all in place.... just 'briefly' repositioning work piece....
The cut was just brushing against the spinning blade. Took milliseconds only and fortunately no force or momentum behind the moving hand! And no pain at all.... at the time.
Anyway, if you think you can do ANYTHING without the unconscious use of the tip of your dominant thumb, you have another thing coming..... Bugger it hurts when you forget.....
7 days to go - until its healed...
Cheers
Joe
PS: I gave myself some medical attention: poured some metho over it while it was numb.Cheers,
Joe
