Default Does Anyone Know the Function of Unusual Die for UB-100 Universal Bender ??

    Hi,

I recently bought one of those useful UB-100 benders. However there are two dies for which I can divine no purpose.
Perhaps someone here may be able to assist as I have searched the Internet high and low for some hints as to what these "alternative" dies do.

This is the standard "eccentric" block which holds the work:

and this is a similar "eccentric" block but its extra purpose (and in particular the function of the cutout) escapes me.

    ub100_2.jpg

There is also a "slimmer" pressure plate (attached to the rotating handle side) and with a cutout; again for which I cannot see a purpose which is not served by the larger one:

So if anyone can offer suggestions it would be greatly appreciated

    thanks

Hi icedvolvo and welcome to the forum, the 2 extra blocks are for short bends ie. a bend of 25mm leg to leg as in a Z or U or similar.

Ahhhhhhh ........ light lowly dims on .......

OK I can sort of see it ...... I think ...... especially for square and round stock .... so the U or Z spacing is set to the spacing of the cutout in the "alternative" block

I guess I will have to play with making U's and Z's and see how it goes

When I do I will post some videos on how to use this puppy for things other than flat bar cos the manual is pretty useless and there is nothing (I mean NOTHING) on the web showing how to use it properly. There must be millions of these things around the world and yet there is not a single instructional video specific to these devices.

    Thanks again Pensmore, appreciated.
