    Question Gas bottle cutting

I wish to cut a series of eight tongues in an old disused bbq gas bottle (yes, yes, after being made safe. Please, we are responsible adults on here) but with very narrow kerfs and no burring. Jigsaws and sabre saws immediately come to mind but they are neither accurate or clean enough in their kerfing, particularly given the curved nature of the bottle ends. Water jets also come to mind but this is a home project on a budget.

Ultimately, i want to end up with a series of different sized but most accurate tuned "u" shaped cuts (perhaps square "u" shaped) not much more than 1mm wide. Any suggestions?

They are ideal for the job. But no matter what you have done to the bottle up to now, fill it with water before cutting and if you can use an air driven machine - water and air are better than water and electrickkery.
