Bit if a haul with some of the footage running a bit long, however the end result is superb.

Especially noteworthy is the simpler 3D printed version at the end - I'm thinking longer rods and you've got something that could also measure between straight edges also in sizes that are over what your typical verniers cover and likely with more accuracy.
