    Have you considered buying Ivan Laws book, Gears and gear cutting..... It is well worth the money.. It shows how to make your own cutters...

    actually a mate was here today and he brought that book with him and offered me a loan of it but i declined ,maybe i should have a borrow of it .

    Yeah, buy it, look on ebay you should be able to get it pretty cheap.

    Its not the sort of book you can just sit down and read, you really need it almost like a reference book. Mine is still in the shed from cutting bevel gears the other week.

    I have to admit that that book just about covers it all and it's an easy read, well, as easy as it's gunna get.
