    Default George H Alexander Mill

Grays are auctioning a "Purpose Built Mill" in about 15 hours under "NSW Engineering and Manufacture".

I understand George made UK clones of Deckels.
Could be an interesting machine for some.

Purpose built Milling machine, Item is as is. Inspection advised.. Asset lo Auction (0105-5002823) | GraysOnline Australia

Whilst I'm not in the market for another mill just yet, it's amazing to think how much weight a couple of tee slots can support. And thats' the rotary table without a work piece.

    John.

How do you build a mill not on purpose? How did that Gingery guy sell so many books if it is possible to make a mill by accident?

And how do you take so many photos without one of them in focus?

Still though, that was a bargain price for an Alexander mill with dividing head. If the other missing bits were included (vertical head, milling table) ir would have been worth 2 grand at least. If I had seen it I would have bought it for more than that since I own more Deckel gizmos and could use another mill body.

The "other missing bits" were probably all auctioned seperatly on a pallet with other machine vices, spindles etc. They always do that for some unknown reason.
