Glad you asked Aaron. I was getting dizzy twisting my neck. Most probably an intentional thing, retaliation for last night.

Now would I do something like that Bob?

I forgot to mention, tonight I put another coat of paint on, cleaned up the adjusters and gave them a coat of zinc, so apart from needing some M12 bolts its finished. Now to work out where I'm going to put it.

    Hi Ross....

The jack was turned from a length of 32mm hex bar, so that a wrench hex remains after the stock is turned and threaded. A matching threaded sleeve was made and welded into the cross member. The jack screw was centre drilled so that a 1" bearing ball sat comfortably in the depression. Next a 60mm disc was turned, bored, and faced off about 12mm or so thick. It too was chamfered in the bore and sits atop the bearing. The granite rests on this piece.

When mounting the plate on top of the stand I greased up the bearing ball so that the three loose parts, jack acrew, ball, and disc were less prone to scattering, then I lowered the plate onto the three jacks and fine-tuned location by brute force.

BTW, Phil Machtool made them for me. If you are not so equipped with machines or friends, I'd consider welding on three levellers made from salvage yard Mercedes jacks which you should be able to buy for next to nothing. (salvage yard owners may have a different view on that, however)

Well its done, leveled within about 0.04mm a meter (after that I start having so issues with the level I havent exactly worked out yet).
The adjusters seem to work pretty well(the reason I went with a 1mm thread pitch)
The plate does have three rusty circles on the bottom in a triangle, maybe were it sat while being made? So thats the way around I put it.

Only thing is it needs to go be about 2.5mm length ways.......
