Two grinder stand
I have been frustrated with my grinder setup for some time, due to space restrictions. I've had two bench grinders mounted back to back on a stand, which meant pulling the stand out from the wall, wrestling it around and using the applicable grinder. In the end I'd just switch the one at the back on when I needed it and reached over and used it backwards!
I don't have space to mount them side by side, so was working out how to put them on a carousel, or turntable, something space efficient. I came up with a cunning ploy and have been working to that end using recycled steel for several months of lunchtimes.
At last it's finished and in place! And it works a treat, although in its present configuration I don't think I'll be using it when I'm old, as its a bit heavy to lift. A counterweight or gas strut could improve things!
The first shot is with the buffer and Multitool setup in place, with the other bench grinder below. The guts of it is an "L" shape cradle which pivots on a large shaft with brass bushings, and two locking handles to locate the cradle. The front top of the stand is open so the cradle can swing through.

This next shot is during the pivot operation, with the buffer setup swinging up and the grinder below moving into position. You can see the end of the pivot shaft on the side top rung, and one of the locking handles disengaged. It seats on the wedge shaped lugs and sits really firmly, with no tendency to loosen. The whole stand is solid during grinding, but I will bolt it down soon.

The third photo is with the standard bench grinder in position and ready to go. You can see the buffer/Multitool grinder sitting up vertically behind. I have some rerouting of cables to do, bring the orange one through the floor plate of the other grinder...but that means unwiring the lead from the grinder.
There is a shelf halfway which stores a portable grinder, and the empty space down the bottom will have a metal drawer, to store grinding wheels and belts etc.
Hope you enjoy!Andy Mac

Andy
Rotating tools.....mmm!
I noticed at the sharpening demo you had your oil stones in an interesting three sided device that was economical of space. Got any more of these devices?
