Grinder Tool Rest
I hate
darn stupid little grinder tool rests either no adjustment no flexability ARPIA.
I have just made some new ones for my cheepy 6" an adjustable table with wing nuts for quick change and an extra 1" slot for height adjustment and wider so you can slide tools across.
The right is just wider

Looks good. Can I order a set ?
I've got a cheapy grinder with the tin foil tools rests and need to replace them. I got some pieces of HSS tool steel today and attempting to grind one has been less than successful.
It can't possibly be me so it must be the grinder...Geoff

Nice job Ray .You could hold a party on those
Have to do the same to a 10" I bought a couple of weeks ago .No-name chiwanese brand .Rests are less than ordinary to say the least.Yours look super strong.
I got one of those Carbatec ones on my 8" grinder ,I cut a slot out of it on the mill last weekend so it goes each side of the wheel.
Also squared up the front edge with the mitre slot so I can dress the wheel using a diamond stick fitted into a block that rides in the mitre slot or along the front edge of the rest.
Can do pics if any one wants to see.

I could do with a good rest myself, I've been threatening to have one for a while so this
might just nudge me to do it. They look great Wheelin.

Amen to all that, and well done, Ray.
Even some plywood clones would be an improvement over the original toys.
