    Default A Guided Tap Holder.

A while back I posted a photo of a tap holder in the hands of Frank Ford ( worth a peruse if you haven't checked out Frank's site - HomeShopTech ).

Then a couple of months ago, a bloke I know said he was buying some gear from Enco and he would add a pair of tap holders to his order if I was interested. I was interested. Here are a few photos. What is the icing for me is the additional clearance I have as a result of having an ISO 30 collet that does away with the collet chuck.

It wouldn't be difficult to modify an existing tap handle to accommodate a guide. I know some forum members have done just that.

Drilling and tapping in the mill is hard to beat.

They are very handy, I bought 2 sizes from CDCO, slightly different design (guide can be removed) and use them both on the mill and on the lathe.

These tapping holders are the "Best idea I have seen since sliced bread"
Excellent for jobbing work in the lathe or mill.
I am going to order the 2 holders. The landed cost of $29 will be easily justified.
    Thanks again.
    regards

    They should cost $US9.00+$US10.00+$US16.95(postage)= $US35.95

The $US16.95 will be a Small Flat Rate USPS box and you should be able to fit some more bits and pieces in with that, Frank will let you know.

These tap holders are very verstaile as the crossbar fits in 2 places, handy for hand tapping as well.

I'll check for you too Mike. It may be a few days though, I was rushed into hospital at 5 this morning and I don't know how long I'll be here for. Thank goodness for smartphones!
