new guy with questions
Hi,my name is Tezza and i am going to buy a new lathe and mill.i have been looking at a havco al320g bench lathe and a havco hm32 mill,i will mainly be making parts for my hotrod and motorcycle,i would like an opinon on these or a better alternative and any other advice that would help. i did metalwork at school many years ago and have a very basis knowlege of using a lathe but am looking forward to learning more Thanks for your time ,Tezza

If the budget is not to restricted you may also wish to look at a geared head mill,and the next side up in lathes.
The reasons being that changing belts can become tiresome,although for most you will probably only require a few changes.oneof the benefits of the geared type is there will be no slipping of belts under cutting conditions,maybe even the ability to take a heavier cut than a belt drive.
With the lathe you will get a longer distance between centres,screw cutting gearbox,stand,although the next size up lathe is nearlly $1000 more.
Seeing you know what you will be doing on the machines you have more than likely allready sorted the limitations.
