OK, Thanks to everyone who has posted suggestions here, and apologies for the delay in replying...
Turns out DJ was right, Bunnings do sell an m14x2 spindle. Ordered one last week and it arrived today! Looks the goods, seeing as I already have stitched and loose leaf buffs and compound. Will be giving it a go real soon, hope to let u know how it works out. Shouldn't have any probs, But if I do, we always know where to ask.
