    Default Hardinge tool holder

Does anyone here know how this toolholder works?
It also seems to have a gib at the top of the dovetail - not seen that before.
    Cheers,
    Joe

    Hi Joe,
These tool holders are easy. First thing to do before putting it on the machine is to place it on the bench and stick a camera in front of it.
Sorry if I sound a bit short but I seem to have shredded a nerve in my neck which is shooting pain down my back and across to my left arm down to my fingers and halfway across the lounge room floor. lol.
    You really are enjoying retirement.

Google says its for taper boring.
Though I could see is possibly being used for threading.(thought the adjustable stop is likely on the wrong end for that.)

Looks like the lever on top moves the dovetailed tool holder by a concealed rack and pinion.

It could be used with a parting tool for quick action parting of small items like maybe tubular spacers?
