I need help with the electric
Hi to all I'm new to this forum and need some help,by 5-00, 5-01 and 5-02."!)
I have bought about 1 years ago a new motor and a so called "union graduate remote pendant" for my Myford super 7 lathe. The Teco 7300CV Inverter I had bought some time be for.
I found now the time to install all this to my Myford and it works all fine FWD and Stop are working, BUT the Revers switch on the pendant will not work.
I put all the parameter I got with the remote pendant in to the Teco 7300CV but no Revers.
Revers is enabled set to 0000
Set to 3- wire control 0002
Parameter 5-00 0000
Parameter 5-01 0001
Parameter 5-02 0002
(But in the Manuel is written "As 3 wire control mode is selected, the terminal S1, S2 and S3 is not controlled
When I switch from the Teco it self in to REV it will work fine.
If I push the Rev from the remote pendant the rev light will blink on the Teco ( only as long as I press the Rev) but nothing will happen.
If I press first the REV and than the FWD button and hold the REV button the motor will start running in REV. When I release the REV button the motor will stop running.
I hope some one can help me to solve this problem. I add some photos from the wiring of the Teco and the pendant.
The white cable is 24V (PNP on the Teco selected)
yellow is S1
brown is S2
blue is S3
Thanks Olaf

Hi Olaf,
As I understand it your VSD is operating exactly as it should and I dont see an easy way of fixing it with the switch you have*. You could add another switch(easy but wont use the REV button you have) or a another circuit(harder but will let the buttons operate as I think you want them to)
Stuart
*the manual shows you need a toogle switch from com to S3. You seem to have a momentary switch

Hi Olaf,
Stuart has it right, you have done everything correctly and the drive is working as it should, but I think the problem is that the inputs are not FWD/STOP/REV they are ...
RUN
STOP
DIRECTION (FWD/REV)
I'll see if I can draw a cct that will work with your pendant..
Regards
Ray
PS I have a TECO drive on my mill, so I must have a drive manual somewhere...

Hi Ray,
I found googled this one, which isn't much like the one for my Teco, in fact it looks more like my Huanyang VFD than my Teco, as does the "English"
http://www.tecowestinghouse.com/Manu...al%2011-05.pdf
Pages 4-22 and 4-23(or 54 and 55 of the pdf)
I can't make it work without adding some latching relays and a seperate V source. You on the other hand might be able to.

Hi Olaf,
I think you will need to add latching relays to make the pendant work with momentary contacts on fwd reverse.
You will need at least two SPDT 24V relays, I can draw a circuit for you if you want.
Regards
Ray
PS Stuart, thanks for the link to the manual.

Sorry for my late replay. This is exactly not what I like to hear, that I have to add some parts because I know nothing about soldering or electric. I bought this pendant from Neton Tesla lathespeedcontrol they sell this normally with there MITSUBISHI inverter. But I was told by the owner that it will work also on my Teco.
Has this not also some thing to do with" 3 wire control mode is selected"
What if found also out in the meanwhile is if I press the
REV button and hold it and push than the FWD button the motor will run in REV as
long I keep pushing the REV button or press on stop!
Thanks Olaf

Hi Olaf,
Three wire control works as follows.
RUN switch is a momentary contact push to close.
STOP switch is a momentary contact push to open.
FWD/REV switch is a TOGGLE switch that selects forward/reverse.
Your pendant doesn't have a toggle switch...
I would go back to the supplier, if they say it's supposed to work, ask them how.
I can make it work with your FWD STOP REV pendant, but it will require two relays and some wiring... do you have someone who can do that for you?

Hi Olaf,
If you dont want to solder etc, you could just add a simple switch(with the right switch you would just need a screwdriver). The switch would then control FWD or REV. The REV push button you have would then do nothing and the FWD push button would become a START button(in either fwd or rev depending on how the other switch is set).
This is the only mode your VSD will work in with your current remote setup.
I'm not sure I understand this. You are saying it runs when you have your finger on the stop button?

Hi Olaf,
Here's a circuit to use that pendant with the teco drive.
If you don't have any experience with wiring this sort of thing, look around for a local electrician.

Hi Stuart,
I payed 150$ for the remote and than I have to ad a switch?
The following is working:
Press FWD it will run in FWD
Press Stop it will Stop
Press REV it will not run in REV
Press REV and than FWD it will go in REV as long I keep pressing REV, If I l stop pressing or press the stop button it will stop running in REV.
Thanks Olaf

Thanks Ray,
hopefully John from Neton Tesla will let me know this weekend if there is a other possibility how to run the remote on the Teco.
If not, than I have a problem.

Hi Ray,
Just for my own interest rather than anything else. Leaving the VSD setting as they are, would this work?(sorry for the butcher job on your drawing, I took your name of it so people didnt think it was you.)

Hi Stuart,
According to the manual when you have FWD and REV active together the drive STOPS
So you need 2 relays... the idea of flipping polarity and leaving the inputs as PNP would work however.

Hi Stuart,
Ah.. yes, but in 3 wire mode the switches are RUN, STOP, DIRECTION not as the pendant is labelled, which is FWD-STOP-REV.
I was assuming that the mode would be changed to use the FWD-STOP REV-STOP mode so as to be the same as the pendant switches are labelled...
No wonder Olaf is confused..
Regards
Ray
