    Default Help with finding screws

    Hi again,

WOuld anyone know FOR SURE where I could lay my hands on some solid brass screws, 8/32UNC thread that are at least 5cms long? I have asked soooo many places that my ears are starting to bleed, and I am sick of so called "hardware experts" looking at me with blank stares.

I KNOW they exist, I have seen them for sale in the USA, but I want to source them locally as shipping on any decent number of them is exhorbitant.

    Cheers

    Default Brass Bolts

I get all my fasteners from "Bolt and Steel Sales" in Rockhampton. Their ph number is 07 4922 5050 and they have never let me down. If you have a "Boltmaster" outlet in your area, give them a try.

have you tried any of these,
    Botls and Industrial Supplies, Salisbury
Any Blackwoods store, probably try Carole Park first, thats the distibution warehouse i think
    Mullings Fastners.

    maybe they can supply.

failing that, maybe look to get somebody with a lathe to manufacture if possible

not sure if you have had any luck, but you could try Keables in A'Beckett st Melb. I know it is a long way away, but they have been around for about 80 years. They have about 3 floors of all sorts of ancient nuts, rivets and other superseded fasteners. They have a minimum non-account charge of $25, but may be able to post. Try them on

    ElDubya,
While not on your side of the Nullabor you could try Searle Fastners in Perth, 08-94575444. Also 8-32 is also used in aviation circles, you could also try Aviall, have outlets at most major airports, but would not be cheap though, nothing in aviation is.

Thanks for all the replies fellers. Helped me out a lot with my suppliers list that I have on my PC. I have found a bearing mob that sells 8/32UNC brass rod in one metre lengths, that suits my needs down to the ground.

    Thanks again
