I put the above phrase into google and found this
    Folding Camper Accessories

This gave me the correct name as "spring button" and googling "spring buttons for tubing" led to heaps more.
The other name they go by is "Snap buttons"
Not many will go fit > 25 mm tubing but I found a couple that did.

    Not rocket science really.

You just can't beat this Forum, I have a trestle type thingee out of a skip bin that needs new "snap buttons" and you guys have done the ground work for me. Thanks Bobl and Danny.

No worries. I had day surgery yesterday and even though I am supposed to be taking it easy I found it hard to sleep so I was up and down like a yoyo the whole night. It was about the most useful thing I could do.

I had to do a pick up today from my laser cutter and it dawned on me that they also make springs so I asked the obvious question and they handed me over four for free, hows that for quick turnaround, thanks again bob.

I have quite a few of them if anybody needs/wants some 25mm ones. They came from wheel chairs.
PM me if you would like some, postage costs only.
