Help With Waldown Stuck Chuck
I got a PM from Will, asking for help with his Waldown 8SN Series 3.
His thread is over here.. in the Small Machinery Section... https://www.woodworkforums.com/showth...47#post1808347
The spindle looks different to mine, ( which is a JT taper ) and I seem to remember that the later ones were different.. I'm sure BT will know..
Wasn't there someone else with a similar problem last year...?

Hello Ray,
My Waldowns have Morse taper spindles but my little Tough has its chuck mounted via a Jacobs taper on the end of the spindle. From memory, the Tough has a threaded collar above the chuck that when screwed down onto the top of the chuck, enables its removal.
I'm not sure how Waldown intended the JT mounted chuck to be removed but one way is to drill a hole through the chuck body centre to enable the insertion of a drift and the subsequent belting off of the spindle from the chuck.
Waldown may have provided sufficient clearance between the end of the spindle and chuck for the insertion of wedges ??? https://www.woodworkforums.com/showth...98#post1441798
