Default Herbert No. 7 Turrett Lathe

    G'day guys,
I kept the big old girl, couldn't let the scraps sharks get her. I have got a big problem, just before Christmas I left the lock on the apron tried to use it a couple of weeks later, solid, tried the tappy tappy but the handled moved on the spigot, couldn't undo the handle so cut the socket head off came handle, leaving a 50mm high x 25mm dia spigot.
My problem for the life of me I cannot remember how to undo the lock, clockwise or anti clockwise. To lock the turret you pull the handle towards you I am about to weld the handle on but you can see my delima (Low hydrogen rods). Come on old timers you should be able to help me out.
    Nigel

Would think if you move the locking handle toward the headstock and the locking screw raises a plate to lock the carriage that it would be Right Hand.
If it was to push a locking plate onto something it would probably be Left Hand.
