First off i'd just like to thank everyone for all there help and guidance so far.
It has been most appreciated.
I have bought my new lathe but it isnt the Mcmillan.
I have aquired a Shun Shin 13x40.
The Good:40mm spindle bore, cam lock chuck, geared headstock, gap bed, coolant pump and came with 3 jaw chuck with internal and external jaws, 4jaw chuck, spare back plate, faceplate and fixed and traveling steadies.
VERY PLEASED with it for the money i paid.
The Bad:I'd say it hasnt been cleaned in 10 years and has done lots of brass cutting so everything is full of brass chips!! It also has the tailstock in pieces as the threaded brass insert has stripped. The actuall thread is perfect so it shouldnt be hard to fix.
I will take a picture once i've cleaned it up a bit and no doubt will have many questions on this machine.
Anyone got a manual for a Shun Shin?
Any way cheers and thanks to all.
Jack
