Historic factory tour YouTube channel
I figured I would create a thread to post some Youtube links of historical factory tours:
My opener is a Chrysler factory setup specifically to produce B29 engines. The factory was pushing out 1,600 18 cylinder engines per month. Some impressive machines and machining here.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_t3akMEm9bI
And one with some great material testing machines and amazing profiling machines making dies (by GM): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ACWMbeXd31s
The channel has a ton of historic manufacturing videos (among others..): https://www.youtube.com/user/mrpitv/videos
Some terrific videos.. Enjoy!

They certainly look interesting, but on my iPad, there was so little volume that I had to choose between hearing some of it, or watching all of it, and without the dialogue, it wasn't as good as it should have been. Did anyone else have this problem, either on a conventional desktop/laptop computer, or iPad?

Watched the first, plenty of volume on PC with headphones (dinosaur stuff I know). Awesome the magnitude of the civil construction then the complete raw material deliver thru foundry to test bed sequence. In what was it 18months? How many billions to set up such a plant in 2013?
Thank you for posting.
ps I watched a National Press Club speech by Dr Brendan Nelson on his new role with the Australian War Memorial and its activities. Would be nice if they made these sort of Australian film archives of the civilian support of the war effort more accessible.

I have found so many good videos on that link. The lack of interest here however makes me reluctant to post any more.[/QUOTE]
Thank you variant22 for posting that link/s.
I have watch only the engine plant one so far and found it absolutely fascinating, how fast they built the plant how vast and complex it was, and how FAST they it shut down after the Japanese surrendered !!
PLEASE please keep looking and posting links. I never seem to get around to looking but always enjoy watching when some one else points me there! I'm sure that there are more here that enjoy such links but don't take the time to acknowledge.
Graeme
