Over here in the Shakey Isles, our prices are higher than in Oz, partly due to higher Grab, Snatch and Take = our GST is 15%, and of course "because they can".I missed a nice 1960's Pederson the other day which i have been kicking myself over ever since, especially as i found I could have fitted it into the workshop with some rearranging . Gone now, and someone got a bargain. Our price is 6,068.32+GST = $A6068+GST (and 7,472.70 NZD incl GST = $A6,978.61).I think I can take one of those HM mills off the list, unless it is much cheaper, based on the comments above, or at least inspect with a dial guage the exact one i am going to get.I have 3ph power, and my gantry will lift 2T in theory at my end, although I would have to rent a trailer to move whatever I get if it is over 1T, and a crane at the other end to load it.There was a Lagun on Trademe the other day ($NZ2200) - poor photo, unknown condition, no DRO, but it didn't look like it had much daylight under the vertical head, which ran off the horizontal spindle. According to the little I could find on Google, I think it also weighted 3.5T, which would be a problem... Universal milling m/c | Trade Me There are a couple of turret mills, but I like the idea of the vertical and horizontal.I have time - I don't use a mill a lot, and I have the RF30 drill mill and the Denbigh (circa 1920s vintage)Geoff

Yes from the Lucky Dragon Precision Noodle Manufacturing Plant no 1. It is overpriced too (around $NZ3.5k) for one that looks well used, as is and no DRO and no horizontal spindle. A HM50 (vertical only same as this one) new is $NZ6497 incl GST or $A6064 and that is with the DRO and some cheezy tooling.

Yes, I was thinking of another one. A Mititoyo DRO does seem overkill on this machine.
There is no horizontal arbor, but i have found a supplier who has them for $NZ200 or so.
