Corgan,
You might have to supply a few pictures, the switch is something that seems to change often.(unless its the same as the one on the H&F page?
You had to wire the power lead yourself?

all sorted, just a quick call to h&f. didn't have to wire the switch ,but it had a few wires coming out, i figured one might have been the ground and hte other related to auto cutoff. but i've now learned it's just a physical cutoff.
been cutting bits of metal all morning, love the saw but i definately need an appropriate blade for the stainless; taking me 10 mins per cut on 38x38x3 tubing
not so bad when i only have to keep half an eye on it though

Now is the time to buy if you want one, as I just notice Hare and Forbes has them on special for August for $297

yeah i'd say go for it if you've got the money, the cuts take a while but you don't need to babysit, and they come out very very clean. no dust or noise either
if i had an extra couple of hundred i probably would have bought the swivel head model, as the angle guide on the adjustable vice is worse than a chop saw, but what ive done is scribe a 45 deg line on a workpiece and line it up so it's straight with the blade, then mark the position of the vice on the saw base.

Corgan,
I've had one of these saws for about 15 years - and it was second-hand back then....
I had to insert shims under one of the pivot mounting bolts to get it to cut square. So nothing has changed from the old "Rungfu" days (which is the brandname on mine)...
