Does it really matter how or how not they may or may not get away with it?

Im sure there are probably enough members of the Woodwork Forum that have purchased either the same or similar to suit there individual needs.

Maybe you should start a thread for people that have purchased items not fit for purpose.

Or even better Todays Tool GOAT.

It's fraud, of course it matters. Why would you think otherwise?

    Buyer beware.

if people jump at something because they think the price is right good luck to them.

Maybe they dont have the knowledge to no whats good and whats not.

Its not as if they were stating anything in there add apart from how it measures.
They didnt say that it was that particular brand.

Its a bit like if someone is selling a new car.

Is a new car actually a new car,or if the sellers calls it a new car is it indeed new car.

The seller would not say its a new car never driven but if they sell cars on a regular basis this would indeed be a new car for the seller.

Good luck to them if they can trick the highly skilled here.

They might be honerable counterfeiters. I've meet that type on several Asian beach's. Same, same but only different, was the sales pitch.

The timing belt used in the Chinese X3 mill bears the name "Greatwall", in the same oval logo and the same font that "Gates" uses on their genuine belts. It banks on your brain automatically thinking "Gates" when you see a belt and an oval logo with a big "Gxxxx". It is not fraud, it is the good old art of deception. Think oriental rug sellers, or our very own horse sellers. Aldi sells Chinese Bauhn TV sets, sounds and reads like good German Braun, does it? Mitutogo. I am sure you find more examples... what was this other Chinese TV brand sold in Australia: "Pansonic" or "Palsonic" instead of Panasonic?

Haven't you ever wondered how they get the tooth paste into the tube, or how that Heat Movie guy from Qld, manages to sell a'lot of Mits's stuff shipped from China?
The header pic of the indicator auction said "Mitutoyo" on the face of the instrument, had you viewed the picture. Which part of that, would you not consideer to be an auction of something Mitutoyo?

Theres a very valid reason for that. If you write Mitutoyo in text / words, a search engine will find it almost immediatly.
Take a picture of something that contains the word, and its part fn a JPEG or Gif.

    Good luck finding that.

Care to explain why the main / first picture will have Mitutoyo or Mityugo visable?

This place needs a wet blanket icon.

I don't want to harp on it but this one ticks all the boxes as a fake but is claimed to be Mitutoyo. And the price is up there as well.

None of his negative feedbacks concern Mitutoyos. 3 neutrals do question the authenticity, but not the quality. Lots of Mitu positives. I guess that doesn't prove much, except maybe that if they're copies they're good ones.
