So what? My car has Mercedes Benz on it. It fits on my palm thogh...
I mean, would you buy a new Rolex watch with a housing guaranteed to be carved out of solid gold for $1000 when you know it sells for 20K in a serious shop? Why then consider a new Mitutoyo DTI for 15% of its normal price?

G'Day Fellas,
Yes, it's as fake as an adult movie stars boobs, but if you need/want/can only afford a cheap Chinese DTI why not ?, it's probably no better or worse than any other generic $20.00 job.

Martin

Definitely a fake/counterfeit, although as has been mentioned, the seller does not describe it as a Mitutoyo.
I have one of these Chinese units (or one similar) and I must admit that it's my go-to dial gauge. Does everything I need it to and if I happen to accidentally drop it, or damage it in some way, I won't shed a tear ... but would order another in a heart beat.Cheers.
Vernon.

General practice and often stated "Images form part of the description" So if the photo says Mitutoyo or displays a photo of a genuine Mitutoyo then that is what you should expect.
Not everyone who wants to buy one will know the true market value. So I do see the OP point. Personally I do research to the point of analysis paralysis. If you know it is a fake and are prepared to buy a fake that is ok to, but why put Mitutoyo on it rather than a generic asian name if your intention is not to mislead the purchaser?…..Live a Quiet Life & Work with your Hands

You would think that Mitutoyo would want to protect their brand name more closely. I'm yet to hear of them prosecuting any one for selling the fakes.
(On Edit) Did some one report that link at post #1. I worked this morning, now its gone.
This was the link the Mitutoyo Singapore, put out dealing specifically with those knock off's.
