hydraulic pipe bending probs
got some issues with a hydraulic pipe bender.
the ram won't hold pressure and maintain height.
12 tonne jack essentially. gasweldjobby
new dedicated bender jack is 120$, so I'm hoping this one can be fixed?
can jacks be fixed?
what usually goes in them?
history:
fairly heavy pressures
exposed to heat while strengthening the base palate with welded sole
plus re welding roller arm supports - blew the welds apart.
just a query

If the ram won't hold pressure or height then the chances are that a seal has gone in side and oil is bypassing the piston.
If you can get in the ram you can probably replace the seal.

On some of these jacks there is a steel ball that acts as a valve seat on a chamfer, sometimes if you remove the plunger you can give the ball a hit with a punch/piece of steel rod to try and reseat it if that is the problem.
