Hydraulic Press Jigs
In a post on Gerbilsquasher's thread https://www.woodworkforums.com/f65/so...-press-153170/
I mentioned a right angled bracket jig design for the press. I have started it but had the need for another type of bracket today so made this jig.

Design no 2. The brackets fit 50mm X 1.6mm wall SHS which has a much smaller radius but is not strong enough to press brackets with so I used a bit of 4mm wall standing up as shown with a radius ground on 2 edges. This worked better. Smaller radius. These brackets are to mount a frame to support a section of AstroLite sheeting in my verandah build. The right angled brackets re the first jig are for the gutter supports.

I like it, simple, effective and made from bits and pieces.
Good luck with the verandah build.
Cheers. If I'm not right, then I'm wrong, I'll just go bend some more bananas.

Hi Dean,
Works for me. Certainly much better than stuffing about with a hammer.

Thanks. Have to make some extra length swaybar link brackets soon and now have a pretty good idea on what I need, to do the bending. Just have to finish my home made press.

I mounted the brackets in position today on my verandah build. We are putting in 3m section of Poly Carb sheeting over a window. Mainly because the verandah has to be extended 2.8m from original size. The brackets joined some of the support frame for this sheet. The original only has support at inner and outer edges, not near enough for Poly Carb. Brackets worked great.
