Industrial/historical attractions south of Melbourne
We're heading to Mornington Peninsula for a holiday in a week or so. My wife has family in Melbourne and has got most of our time spoken for. But I might be able to find a few hours to look at something I'M interested in. Where was that old shipyard RC was posting about with the giant lathe? Some island? Any other suggestions?

I live on the MP. The only vintage machinery place I know of is this one:
PINE RIDGE MOTOR MUSEUM
I haven't been there myself. It's not far from the maze at arthurs seat, so you might be able to use that as an excuse with the wife:

The maze is great BTW. Another ''must do'' is the boardwalk at Cape Shank. There's also a lighthouse there that does tours, but I've not done the tour myself. I never seem to get past the wineries. If you like looking at old machinery, you should drop in and have a look at my neighbour's mower.
