Default How do you manage that?

    Folks,

I recently acquired a collet set for my Hafco AL 320G.

    Great.

Now all I have to do is grab a piece of threaded rod and screw it into the back of the chuck, and then make a spacer to centre the rod in the back end of the head tube.

    !!!

The 38mm internal spindle tube finishes so close to the drive pulley there is no possible way you can get a centreing space on the end of that tube without fouling the drive pulley. Anybody else had this issue and if so how do I get around it? I had thought of turning the pulleys around on their shafts so at the top, the troublesome pulley would then be on the outside of the assembly, and the smaller of the pulleys on the inside, then giving me more space. However, that then causes me complications when I am trying to calculate gearing etc for threading/feeds etc. Its a chore for me the right way around. Imagine what a dumbo can do with the pulleys about face.

    regards

Any chance of some pics to help you sort this out, please, as some of us don't have that lathe.
