Good morning everyone. A rainy morning (the first in a while) gives me the chance to respond to some of your generous comments.

Ray-- I actually searched for Ferric Chloride in Dick Smiths and Jaycar who are the local electronics "Radio Shack" sort of places and while once had it on their lists, neither still stocked it. Thanks for your heads up where I can get more if I need it.

Ewan--- I'm happy for you to pass these details onto the ABF, however may I suggest you wait until I arrange some better pics. My son should be down on the weekend and I will ask him to bring his camera. I had a quick look at the Macdonald rolling mill. and I'm fascinated. It looks awesome and do-able and certainly will prevent my neighbours from commenting, since I live in the burbs.
The details I could source aren't that clear, but I guess, closer to the time, I can be a little more committed to looking harder for details.

Ben-- Thanks a lot. The damascus is 1045 and 15N20 and of course the meteorite, and they all hold a very nice edge. I tried for R58-R60, and I think they are pretty close. I haven't thought through a sheath yet. Goodness that's a whole new education into leather working---but one's education has to continue I guess.

Grahame-- 80 folders!! That's a real fetish. I admit i have a 'few', and I could not get through the day without a 'pen knife' in my pocket. How else can you open the crazy pilfer proof wrappings on every damn thing you buy!! Even my granddaughter comes to me to open her stuff with my 'pen knife'. I have a little collection of 'fancy' woods, I have come across over the years to make handles-but of course I want more!
Thanks again everyone---better pics soon!!!
regards
Brian
