Default Felt for Lathe Way wipes

    Hi All,
I decided to take the easy option and install new felt wipes on the Elliott, in tracking a suitable industrial felt supplier I contacted Australian Felt Specialists and called by there today.
    Australian Felt Specialists Pty Ltd
    [email protected]

In A4 sized sheets they have

    6.4 mm $10.40
    8.0 mm $16.50
    9.5 mm $19.50
    12.7 mm $26.00

Located at 44 Springfield Rd Blackburn Victoria 3130,
Strangest place I have seen for a while, tin shed in a residential street, was worth the visit.

    Cheers
    Bruce

I bought a roll off them, no email confirmation or anything, wasn't sure if the order went through, but it turned up a week later so no complaints. Waaaaaaay cheaper than anywhere else.

    Cheers,

What about a unloved felt hat.
I am not suggesting hacking up an Akubra-that would be un Aussie.

No one would miss a Chinese copy found at a thrift shop though.

Not such a good idea due to nature of fibre used Grahame

Traditional Aussie felting for hats is done with rabbit fur. Plenty of them around here. What fibre is suitable for the job. That is the question.
