Not good enough. WRITE to them and demand that they make it good. Point out that the Trade Practices Act covers this, that they as the retailer are responsible for warranty and that it's *their* problem to deal with the supplier not yours. Inform them that if they don't address the problem to your satisfaction then your next step is to go straight to the ACCC. Refer them to the web site:
ACCC Home
Give them 10 business days to reply/make good. Then complain! Too many companies try this sort of crap on, it's not acceptable and they damn well know it.
Send the letter registered post so they have to sign for it and can't say they never got it.

To me I feel it should be a warranty issue I have spent the last 2 hours talking to some people i know some are electricians others were machinery manufactures (also H&F Brisbane)
they all said that no capacitors are not covered although if it blew in the first few weeks they would replace them
they stated they are classed as a consumable item
I argued that they are not as they are meant to be replaced by an electrician so therfore not a consumer replacable part
I am going to keep going until I find something in writing stating the rules on this one
