little bearing balls needed
lost a couple of 2.3mm [3/32" ?] bearing balls today
i even watched one hit the floor, bounce once, twice and evaporate into thin air
been all over the floor with a magnet and neither will materialise
just hoping some one will know where i can get some replacements
they are chromed by the looks and are attracted to a magnet
they are part of a guitar nut and kind of need to look similar to the other 10 balls
heres a pic of the little begger
there is a small tag on either side that bends down and holds the balls in place and somehow it had lifted up
a very average bit of design work
any one have any idea where i might get some of these lil balls - i am in melbourne outer east -
be nice if i could buy them in bayswaterray c
dunno what's more fun, buyin' the tools or usin' em'

Hi,
When you go to replace your balls here's a tip that may help stop the same from re occurring again.
My father was a watchmaker and couldn't afford to lose parts on the floor ,etc!
His work bench had an apron tacked to the bottom surface of the bench. The apron strap fitted over his head and shoulders and the apron formed an area to catch anything that he might drop.
These days a apron could be made removable from the table with some velcro tape. If you need to spill more on the floor there is always

Bicycle shops also carry the small balls.
Hope it helps

I lost a ball today as well, but luckily I had an old roller bearing that I cut up with the angle grinder which got me out of trouble
