I think this thread has blown out of all proportion.
I repeat that the vice is quality, strong and has no play at all. I adjusted it to be tight.
I use a 6mm or less end mill. I don't cut any more that half its width (3mm) and I only go 1 to 1 1/2mm depth for each cut.
I only use it for plastics or aluminium and I don't climb cut.

I have already use the X Y vice for several hours and made a few quite accurate aluminium parts with no problem. It was when I was cutting perspex that the morse started letting go.

Plastics like Perspex can cause problems as they will melt a little and grab. This grabbing may be contributing to your problems. I was told by a tradesman who used to machine a lot of plastic that the important thing was to keep it cool (flood with water?) and that way the issue can be reduced.

I think air is used as the "coolant" for plastics.

That's amazing. I have very expensive and well made machine vises mounted to X-Y tables weighing hundreds of kilograms on milling machines weighing tonnes.

Every single one of them has some play.

WRT 'quality', the word is meaningless without an adjective to accompany it.

I amazed at your opinions considering you haven't personally inspected my vice.
