Default Looking for 7/8th dia bright bar

    Hi
I'm looking to buy a short lenght of 7/8th bright bar approx 5" or 125mm. Must be 7/8th diameter not 22mm. I have tried a few places locally but know luck, was hoping maybe a forum member could help. I am tring to make a tool rest for my old wood lathe.

    Cheers Jerryj

If you need an accurate piece of 7/8" bright bar you would be better off getting a piece of Centreless ground bar,it will be concentric over its full length and straight.

If you choose a piece of BMS(bright mild steel) there is no assurance of it being exactly 7/8" over its length or of it being straight.

The other allternative would be to get someone to Turn a piece for you, this would be a last resort.

If you Google...... E & J Winter Model Engineering & then go to their catalogue you will find this material listed.
I have purchased from them in the past. They will mail you your requirements providing of course if it is in stock.
