Default Machine inspection required can anyone help? Qld/NSW coastal border

I am looking at a machine a seller has for sale, he is located north of the Tweed River but south of the Qld border... All I really want is a few photo's, maybe you could hear it run and see what it looks like....

Could anyone help? PM me of you can... We could come to some arrangement for your time/fuel...

The seller also has a slotting machine and a jig borer on ebay at the moment, but this is for neither of those... It is in a small welding/machining workshop, just east of that major highway they have there...

    Hi RC,
If I wasn't in Vic I would jump at the opportunity to have a sticky and help you out. I am sure with the top bunch of bods on the forum, someone will step in.
just want to say that this is one of the best web based group of blokes.
    Cheers

I am having a similar issue with a machine on the mid north coast. I know what it is, what it comes with.....but the seller does not have a digital camera or mobile phone. I don't really want to drive 5 hours with a trailer to find out its covered in rust!

I think there is one member that is a metalworker in ballina. I can't remember who it is though.

So.... you convinced him to sell after all....?

Best of luck with it, I hope it's in really good nick and the price is right.

Yea, he says he will probably sell it..... No idea of price yet, but I know what the maximum will be....

I just remembered El Gregor the Mexican Bandit now resides on the Gold Coast... Might have to see what he is up to....

It is not the members here, as the forum is visible to any person browsing the net, you do not know who is out there, looking in... It is like the ebay thread.... I would like it hidden to members only, preferably of a certain post count or length of time been a member, but apparently that is not possible..

A bit OT but maybe not, I was really surprised to learn that a google search will bring up threads on this forum for all to see! I found out while searching for more information on a project I was working on and it found the thread I had started on the same project. I had no idea that the information I gave in a thread was open to all….

Some forums do not allow full access unless you are a member. Personally I would prefer this.

Good luck guys with the machine purchases!

Girl, I don't wanna know about your mild-mannered alter ego or anything like that." I mean, you tell me you're, uh, super-mega-ultra-lightning babe? That's all right with me. I'm good. I'm good.

It was after finding numerous answers to questions I Googled, on the forum that decided me to join. The forum seemed to be a good source of information. It goes both ways I guess, but it would be hard for new members to find out about it without access.

There are sub forums that are not available to non-members, but joining for free on the spot is still possible.

If the thread is only available to members, non members would not know of it anyway. Is the problem that sub forums can be made restricted to members only, but threads within sub forums cannot be?

Isn't there a password protected forum....? maybe ebay and other auction sales could be the same?
