Two holes drilled through, one hole for the big dyna bolt drilled into the floor, the other hole I welded a nut to, to accept a bolt & lock nut. My garage floor has waves in it. Levelling the lathe took hours using the test bar in the chuck with a DTI etc. When all was perfect I screwed down the second nut onto the welded one, tight. Lathe has not moved, every month I do a re-check for accuracy. Secured that way since 2003, not a problems thus far.

I think I know what you mean but a picture paints a thousand words. Any chance you could post a photo or two? I have adjustable feet on my lathe due to the way the floor is but its really unstable so I'm thinking of bolting my Hercus to the floor with I think a similar system to what you described.
