Default Old Machinery - Ilfracombe Qld

Ilfracombe is about halfway between Barcaldine and Longreach, it is an amazing little town with lots of old machinery displayed along one side of the highway. The whole place is basically an outdoor museum.

We stopped here on our way back from Longreach to Barcaldine and took photos of only a small percentage of the stuff on display. Unfortunately we didn't have enough time to do this justice, on the next trip perhaps.

I seem to recall that there is a kilometer or so of history there. I didnt have enough time either.

Yes, at least, and then there is all the stuff inside the museum building itself, which we again didn't have time to go in to.

Spent too much time in Longreach at the Qantas Founders' Museum and the Stockmans Hall of Fame!

Should have allowed a day each for those and another day for Ilfracombe.

Interesting seeing the track drive fitted to the Fordson.

Great tractors, most of which are still going. We have a diesel Major with hydraulics up the farm.

Nice photos, and like a lot of farm equipment it's a pity it's all out in the weather.

    Thanks for posting.

The worst that can happen is you will fail.
    But at least you tried.
