    Default V belt drive.

After the speculation, I can tell you as several others have done, that your Lotze saw is exactly as sold originally. Bought one new round 40 years ago and that is exactly how it arrived. The belt grips just fine. The pulley moves sideways when the dog is put in or out, but the belt still runs in line on the flat pulley.
Not a Rolls Royce saw, they were cheap in their day, but with some care they will cut a lot of metal.

Yep she sure is a Lotze. Thanks for all the info. I'll do a search and try to dig up the information threads on it.
