Max Thickness for Pneumatic Planishing?
I'm working with a 1/4 in aluminum disc trying to make a captain america shield for a gift for a friend. At first my planishing hammer seemed to be doing the trick; I got a small amount of curvature in the middle. However, after changing up my pattern and giving some attention to the rest of the disc, my curvature got a little wonky. Now the center is convex, and the edge is concave. Anyone here know what's up? Is the metal too thick to be trying something like this, or am I doing something wrong?
