picked up one of the H & F metal dust extractors a while ago.
Only have been using it for the thicknessor and track saw thus far.
Bit of mucking around duct tape involved adapting and sealing the inlet to the vac hose for the track saw, but I got there.www.lockwoodcanvas.com.au
I will never be the person who has everything, not when someone keeps inventing so much cool new stuff to buy.
From an early age my father taught me to wear welding gloves . "Its not to protect your hands son, its to put out the fire when u set yourself alight".

I have been thinking about putting a dust extraction on my belt grinder as well.
Have not got to that yet but some day!
If you are worried about fires, just put a bucket of water under where the sparks come flying out. It catches most of the debris unless it's a new 36grit zirc belt. That throws trash everywhere!
I keep a board on mine when not in use as the dog loves drinking out of everything that is not her water bowl!

I have set my buffing mops on fire several times with an angle grinder. As other have said buffing mops shouldn't be left exposed in a metal shop anyway as they pick up grit etc which then scratches the polished surface.
The bucket idea is a good one although my dogs would also drink out of it. I also have two fire extinguishers in my shed, a 1kg and a 2.5kg.
