Small metal Lathe
I think I posted on this before but can't trace the thread.
I am looking at purchasing something like a C3, C4 or an Sm 0816V or SM 0920V.
Looking for opiions on these ( or similar lathes ). I know Fred has an SM 0920 as does Neil (dai Sensei ). Does anyone have opinions on threlative merits of th Seig vs the SM from Asset?
I am looking to the variable speed type as I don't really want to buggerise around cahnging belts. The SM 0920v has a slightly bigger motor than the Seigs - I guess to make up for some of the power loss with the variable speed. I am actually leaning to the 0920V, partly on the basis of Fred's opinion and also Neil's. Neil also live close by so I can pster him as well as John when needed!
