    Default Metal Turning Projects Book

    Hi All

I have been keeping my eye out for a book on metal turning projects (hopefully including some basic projects as well as more complex projects). I have also searched through Plow Books' extensive listing in their workshop section catalogue but no luck so far. Any suggestions?

Have a look at the Workshop Practice Series of books especially No:34 Lathework A Complete Course by Harold Hall. They are excellent books.

The Home Shop Machinist projects books (1-8) are very good for projects, although they mostly are workshop items,ie making stuff for the lathe. Also good for that sort of thing are the machinist's bedside readers by Guy Lautard.

Free Book Spot has a scanned version of the book Lathework - A Complete Course (Workshop Practice Series 34) by Harrold Hall. The photos this scanned version are not very good, however, it is worth the download so that you can evaluate it and then if interested, you can buy it.

There also several other Workshop Practice Series publications available from Free Book Spot's DIY category, just do a search for "workshop" within the DIY category.

I know neksmerj was doing some projects, eg:

    I've also done:

    1) basic transfer punch ie: sized shaft to hole, and put a pointy end on it
    2) hand tapping guides

    Cheers,
    Andrew
