Show us your mill
Seeing Eskimo posted a picture of his mill got me thinking how about a thread on pictures of members mills and start another one for lathes. I know it has been done elsewhere on other forums but as far as I know not here.
I know a few members have bought new mills this year that we haven't seen.
Here is my HM52 with 3 axis power feed and 3 axis dro.

Hi Dave,
Here is my HM52, part way through the CNC conversion, the X-axis ballscrew is installed and working very nicely. Y-axis is next when I can get back to it.
I get glare from the windows when I try to take a picture directly from the front.
Regards
Ray

That X axis is coming up nice Ray, power feed and all working.
I see they put a extra long scale on the Y, you wont have any trouble extending it if you want to. I think for cnc it would be a worth while improvement.

This is my project mill at the moment: an ex Gold Coast TAFE, 1980 Jafo Jarocin FWD32 universal mill made in Poland. This is what it looks like after a week of solid cleaning and oiling, as far as I can tell it's had very little use at all in it's thirty years. It's a universal so the table swivels around the horizontal axis which allows for helical gear cutting using a horizontal arbour cutter and it even has a backlash eliminator in case I feel brave enough to try climb cutting.
It was bought at auction in Brisbane earlier this year and someone claimed nineteen of these were at the previous months auction.

Don't get too envious, what you see is not what you get.... For example, my mill has $12 specials for precision spindle bearings...
When you buy new, you do not get something for nothing...
I am currently searching for a horizontal now... Not a lot around at the moment... Plenty of lathes though...

Excuse the mess. Here is mine after a weeks worth on cleaning. Yes it's hard to see much difference. But it is much cleaning on the inside lol. Still needs more cleaning, some adjustments and some new parts made(oil pump and gibb locks mostly).
Did Herless make mills or just rebrand them? It says made in 1989 but not where.

Show us your Mill
Hi Dave,
Your post reminder me that I had not posted my new mill. Here it is, it is an Eximus brand ( not that this means anything) made in Taiwan.Specifcations are 3 hp 415v, NT40 spindle, table size 1350mm * 250mm, power feeds on all three axis, three axis DRO,one shot lubrication, Variable speed control, weight is 2300 lbs approx. The first job I did on it was to make the Speed handle, I then made 12 more dovetail tool holders for my lathe.I still have it sitting on the trolley I made as I have not yet found its final destination, when I do I can just remove the castors and insert the feet that I made and level it.
Regards Bob

That is a nice solid looking mill, I bet it is still as true as the day it left the factory.
Eskimo
I would like a bigger mill but the one Ive got does mostly everything I need. If I come across a bigger one I would think about it, but wont go looking.
Aussiejoblo
Nice pair of mills, I think I saw your mill on PM, are you into 4wd's?
Gavin
It's not just for floor mills.
Why not post a picture of your mill drill. If others do as well you never know what setup or mods they have done to their machines will be seen and shared.

Hi Aussie joeblow
I like that King Rich mill, is that the model that comes with ball screws? I'm not in the market for another mill, but if I were that would be one of the candidates.
Hi Graziano,
Nothing beats big heavy and rigid construction when it comes to machine tools, that universal mill of yours is a monster. Congratulations on a great looking machine.
Eskimo, if you want your mill to look more expensive, just spray everything hammertone green...
Regards
Ray
