yep
g'day bob thanks for posting. Its big and heavy. To be solid
and not flexing every where i suppose it needs to be. its cool
how they dealt with the tail stock. the round table at the bottem
give's me the option of a rotatory table of sorts.
the angled head fits onto the horizontal milling head which i dont
have yet.
these things will come with time.
I have a vise that i hope will do until i can find a replacement.
I need to start looking for clamps id also like a facing cutter
arbor or two. the milling gear i have is all iso30. which suited
the turret mill at work.
Funny thing at work a couple of months ago someone somehow
pinched the Koinda turret mill. no one know were its gone.

Aaron,
I'm intrigued by the corner milling spindle head. Any chance of some close ups of the spindle nose?
Bob.

pressed for space
that kondia was great.many i time when not one was looking.
it was humming as i reintroduced my self to machining.
one night shift i walked in the shed it was in and a big white owl was sitting on
the motor keeping an eye on things.
then one day all that remained was a slightly beaten up pratt machine vise.sitting on the
ground where there once was a turret mill.no one saw a thing or new any thing im shore no one was
even surprised.
bad timing thou .id just that week been taking cakes up to the shiny bums upstairs.
in a attempt to butter up the boss . as i was going to ask him for it.
ill get onto the photos.

hi here are some photos.
ill have to try some again. i cant mount it until
i get a horizontal head..
the drive belt is missing and the drive end is seized
which i only just found out.

Excellent photos Aaron, thank you. It is not as complicated as I thought it may have been.
Tony Griffiths of lathes.co.uk sells round belting for watchmaker's lathes as does Dr David Samways of Anglo Swiss Tools. One of them may be able to help you out or guide you in the right direction for replacement belts. Franz Singer may even sell the real thing.
Anglo-Swiss Tools Home
Singer Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH
As for the mounting that fits into the top of the horizontal spindle casting, it looks pretty simple. Not beyond a DIY version.

Aaron,
Habasit is a Swiss manufacturer of transmission belts, including round belting.
The Australian outlet is in Sydney - see Australasia
Habasit will be able to make up belts to length, and they are joined by melting the ends and pushing them together - a simple concept but (lacking special equipment) I never found it easy to make a neat join before the material solidified.
A locally made (I think) alternative is Redthane - see http://www.mackayrubber.com.au/pdf/v...ee-belting.pdf . The round section belting is hollow and easily joined with a small metal double-barb joiner. This should be available through power transmission outlets.
Sorry to hear about the drive end - what do you think is the problem?
Cheers,
Bill

deckel
g'day again
bill how are you mate.
thats a few options to look at for the drive belt.cool.
the head is either a seized motor or maybe at the extension
after the motor just before the input pulleys. Im resisting
looking into it further for now. No problem relay for a guy
who luv's fixing things..
thanks bt for the links.
making a mount is a great idea. some times i forget
about that . i can make stuff. especially now that ive
got a piece of machinery or two for that.

motor time
hi all i was hoping to tackle the motor/vfd set up on my baby deckel.
its fitted with a Siemens two speed 3 phase motor.
alas it doesnt look like it will be a simple job i think its a star delta
motor. im not really shore.
i think these use a switching start relay separate to the motor.
has any one else got the fp1 running on a vfd?
has any one here dealt with the same problem?
