My new mill
I have been looking for a horizontal/ vertical mill for a while, preferably with a DRO and quill feed, rather than the fixed head of a lot of older ones. The ones at the local dealers were a bit light (900kg) and expensive. Just today I got a new ZX6350A mill. Best Chinese - the previous owner imported, unpacked the crate, and health problems meant he needed to sell it without using it - it is still bolted to the pallet. Power x-y and Z axis, central lubricator, power downfeed spindle and coolant pump and DRO and 1350kg. Just right for a hobby machine.
Not sure how I am actually going to get it off the trailer though. Might get a Hiab rather than mucking around as it is rather large. It only just fits in the shed door.
Anyone know of any manuals for these? I assuem I wil lahve to fil the gerboxes with oil and would like to know what and where it goes.

Nice machine, and big!
What do you plan on making with it? Or, did you just buy it and wait to see what projects present themselves like I have done?
Pitty about the manual. You really need that. I would be looking closely to see if there is any crap or crud in places like the gearbox etc. If so, then you may want to wash it out before filling with new oil.
Cheers,
SimonGirl, I don't wanna know about your mild-mannered alter ego or anything like that." I mean, you tell me you're, uh, super-mega-ultra-lightning babe? That's all right with me. I'm good. I'm good.

The manuals the came with these sorts of machines in aus are pretty much a waste of time away from what I have seen.have a look around on https://www.grizzly.com/ they will likely have the same machine in a different colorStuart

I don't have any specific projects. At present I have a RF30 drill mill (from my later father in law) with a DRO and a 1920s ish Debiegh flat belt drive horizontal mill. This will replace the Denbiegh at least. It is a bit bigger than I thought it would be, but at least I now have rigidity and daylight the RF30 doesn't have ). To be fair, the drill mill has done most things I have asked of it, and it is bigger than the Tom Senior I had before.
I got all the bits that came with it when the PO from China (arbors, milling chuck) but I didn't see any manual. Having said that, my experience of Chinese machinery direct from China is that the instructions are rather thin. To date, i haven't been able to match it to another brand like Grizzley, who list the Hafco HM52 equivalent. I see one of our local seller is selling them, but without the y and z power feed or power spindle downfeed. http://www.chevpac.co.nz/catalogue/h...-MM_280845?p=1
I priced up importing one from China, and I could land it for less than hey are selling it for but it got put on the back burner but this was cheaper than I could bring one in. Price I got from China was ~$US 4k (depending on options) and ~$2k for freight and port clearance at this end form a local freight company.
Job to day is call the Hiab company and see when they can come around, I need to reshuffle some stuff to clear space for it to go. I need a bigger shed...

For a 1300kg mill, in Hafpos terms that's probably a BM-40V. There is only an on-line brochure for it though, no manual.

Hats the one (or similar). My motor controls are in a different position and the DRO readout is where the controls are shown on that one.
They seem to be really common/ generic in China from the suppliers there. Strange they don't seem to be that common otherwise.
I liked the horizontal and vertical spindle as there are times both are handy.
