Mill head adjustment (Tramming)
G'Day All,
I have a ZX-40A Mill which I am slowly getting to grips with. Just been a matter of finding time in between customer jobs. I decided I need to tram it in as I want to be able to surface Motorcycle cylinder heads etc. using a fly cutter. The mill has a tiltable head on the Y axis so getting that square was not a huge issue. Without using a dial indicator I got that to 1.5 thou over 10" using a feeler gauge. The X axis is another matter, I appear to have a difference of 7 thou over 10 inches.
As far as I can see there is no adjustment for the head in the x axis.IMG_8015.jpgIMG_8016.jpg
Anyone been down this path and have a solution for me?
Thanks, Alan
PS: If anyone knows how to post these images the right way up that would be good too. My apologies. Al
