How to - hex driver with rotating end?
Hi there
I am a lathe novice but I tend to make up for lack of skill with blind optimism! A project I would like to attempt in the future is to make my own torx driver. There are a few out there that I have seen that have a nice ball end that rotates in your palm whist using the driver. Having never seen or held one I am unsure what kind of construction method should/could be used? I have seen reference to the ball end spinning on bearings but no detail on how these are made. Does anyone have some ideas on how to go about this or even what I would call this kind of fitting where one part rotates freely whilst attached to the shaft?
Making the hexagonal hole to hold the bits will be the subject of future questions I am sure but at least I do have a couple of ideas on how I might achieve this.
thanks
Ian
