Red face I made a BIG mistake

I wanted to buy a tilting head drill press and bought a geared tilting head milling/boring machine instead. I bought the heavy duty stand as well.
I guess one could be kind and say it was a bit of overkill

Considering it was shipped from Brisbane to Far North Queensland, it looks like I am stuck with it. The return freight would be a killer, it weighs a ton
The chuck goes from 1/2 mm to 12 mm, so drilling should not be a problem.
If I buy another milling bit, can I use it for timber?
We actually don't have much use for milling metal of any kind.
BTW what is the difference between drilling and boring?

Now you have it, you might find uses for it.
Does it have usefully high enough speeds for timber?
I think some "radial arm" drills (round arms) can tilt their heads?
Drilling makes holes; boring opens up holes, usually with more accuracy.

    Hi Wollfie,
Mills make really good timber working machines, if you can get past the fact they are a bit slow due to there speed range. You can just use standard router bits in them or even better spiral bits. They make great mortices and tennons as well as angled work due to the tilting head. You just need to make sure you keep the ways clean of dust and shavings. I have a big melamine table and fence that I made for mine, it covers all the ways and keeps the table dust free. I also made a hollow chisel morticer attachment to fit my machine.
